Welcome To From Stressed to In Control

Thank you for stopping past.  We are grateful to have you here. 

Stressed to In Control is an online course for first responders.  These include but are not limited to – Police, Fire Personnel, Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, 000 Operators, Teachers, anyone who is the first person to respond to an emergency or traumatic situation. 

As first responders, some of us are more exposed to traumatic events than others but we all deal with real-life traumatic events which can lead to us experiencing trauma, stress, and compassion fatigue.  

Do you go home feeling like you are beginning to lack compassion for yourself and your loved ones?  This could look like withdrawing from the important people in your life, or you could be doing things out of obligation,  expectation or fear of other people’s opinions?  

You could be on the path to burnout……….

Having tools and strategies to help you process the stressful or traumatic  events that you witness at work as they arise, assists you to prevent stress, burnout, or compassion fatigue.  


What does this course look like?

Michelle and Elaina have combined their expertise to bring you a 7-week course delivered to you weekly via email, allowing you to access the material at a time that suits you.  

In this course we will look at:

  • The Importance of having a solid “foundation.”
  • That it’s OK to not be OK.
  • How to focus on your optimum mental health. 
  • The Importance of understanding your values and being aligned with them. 
  • The importance of vulnerability and the courage it requires to be vulnerable. 
  • How Gratitude helps to get you through the tough times. 
  • How to create your own individualised self care plan.


What is included each week?

Each week you will receive a link to the course content.  This will include a video of Michelle and Elaina discussing the subject for that week, reflective questions to journal / ponder on, and a bonus video diving into one of the concepts from that week further to assist you to really unpack during your journalling / pondering.  

There will also be an interactive zoom call every Wednesday throughout the program, when Michelle and Elaina will further unpack the subject of that week and answer any questions.

About Michelle Powell

Michelle Powell is a internationally recognised Holistic Health Practitioner who specialises in Trauma Recovery.

 She has been a wellness professional since 2003, and has trained the rich and famous on the exclusive Hamilton Island. 

 Michelle is also the author of 3 times Amazon best seller “The Mastery of Wellness”.

 Michelle takes people from their lowest to being genuinely happy with a strong focus on the totality of wellness.

About Elaina Mullery

Elaina Mullery RN studied nursing at The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. She spent the first ten years of her career in Scotland before moving to Perth, Australia in 2010. Her clinical experience has been across a variety of settings including Orthopaedic Trauma, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Recovery and Day Surgery. She currently works in PACU.


Elaina has first hand experience of stress and burnout. It was this experience which led her to develop a passion for personal development. She has a diploma in Mindfulness and Meditation, is a certified hypnotherapist and a certified NLP Practitioner.
